Dark Eyes

Dark eyes smouldering,
Beneath soft lids.
Long eyelashes,
Dark and vibrant,
Radiating the eyes,
Like the rays of a cartoon sun.

They say they're lenses,
That look into the soul of a man.
Yet they reveal nothing.
Nothing that a look or glance,
Can reveal.
Showing no more than is necessary;
No more than can be shown.

The colour fascinates.
The shape and position,
Cause first impressions,
That should not stick,
But do.

There is power in those eyes,
Determination,
Strength,
Kindness.
It's hard not to fall for the person beneath.
It's hard to stay neutral.
