Ooh I Say...

Ooh I Say... By J R A Gigney

Ooh I Say,
What's this hole?
What's it for?
I don't know!

Ooh I Say,
Look at that!
What were they thinking?
Get someone sacked!

Ooh I Say,
Who's that man?
You know the one,
The TV one!

Ooh I Say,
Don't do that!
Well not before,
I've put out the cat!

Notes on a Wasted Life

Notes On A Wasted Life
By J. R. A. Gigney

A wasted life,
What went wrong?
What happened to the potential?
Was the potential ever there?
Where did the ambition go?

Run around at age of six,
Collapse heart pumping hard,
But the child goes deathly pale.
A heart murmur.
The child fed up with getting tired too easily.
Then the pills he cannot swallow,
Crushed into milk on a spoon.
Steroids to correct the murmur,
That was to correct itself naturally.
Steroids do other things and these were quite strong.

School!
Don't mention that.
A school phobic before it was recognised.
Depressed too.
Forced inside.
Pretending to be okay but quaking like crazy.
Every day until he leaves.

Work.
Self employed.
The business partner ruins things.
Unemployed,
Soon into the Civil Service.
Five years of mistakes and menopausal line managers,
And that's just the men...
What's happening?
A slide into despair.
It ends
It ends
Breakdown
Breakdown
Breakdown
Breakdown
A lover dies.
Another lover arrives but only to abuse.
Breakdown.
Yes it's wasted,
But it must be redeemed!

The life falters on wandering blindly,
Trying to do good,
Trying to help others through experience.
Yet no one listens.
No one wants to know...

I found

I Found... By J. R. A. Gigney

I fired a rocket in the air,
It exploded with much flair.
And it caused the crowd to cheer,
I wish that my love had been here.

I found a small stone at my feet,
It was polished and painted neat.
I was tempted but it I did not fling,
I gave it to my love set in a ring.
